At least once a day someone asks me what book(s) I’m working through. It’s my personal goal to get through 4-6 books per week, depending on the size and content (and yes, I do read my Bible daily!). I’m working on a blog post to talk about how I do that, but for now I wanted to share some of the books I am currently reading, or just recently finished reading. I think when you find out what a person is working through or has recently worked through, you will notice differences in their words because their readings are (hopefully) fresh on the mind and having an impact on their thinking. I think that’s true of me… I hope. Anyway — here’s the list from last week and this week:
A Quest for More by Paul David Tripp
Before the Throne of God Above by Michael Plant
Reconciliation Blues by Edward Gilbreath
Free to be Bound by Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove
The Decline of African American Theology by Thabiti Anyabwile
The Faithful Preacher by Thabiti Anyabwile
Same Kind of Different as Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore
Respectable Sins by Jerry Bridges
The Gospel According to Jesus by John MacArthur
Interpreting the Pauline Epistles by Thomas Schriner
Adam Bede by George Eliot
** What are you reading?

Nick-
Thanks for the lists of books. The Gospel According to Jesus was one of the first books I read after I came to understand Reformed Theology. It caused me to think through several passages that I had not thought much about. I also have several of the others on the list and look forward to reading them. I also look forward to your blog on how you read 5-6 books a week. You have definitely encouraged me to be more disciplined in my reading. Hope things are going well brother!
Tracy:
Thanks for the comment brother! Great to hear from you.
I really enjoyed the Gospel According to Jesus — for whatever reason, I never got around to it even though it is one that is always highly recommended. I was happy to have received it at T4G. It was a great book and, as you know, hits on a lot of things that I’m very passionate as it pertains to Lordship Salvation issues.
I should have a post about reading up within the next week. Until then, get some reading done!!!
I’ll be looking foward to the post on how you tackle so many books.
